Sold a Comex bar....

Needed to raise some cash, had to part with a kbar. Went very smooth. Prearranged a price, a time I would arrive.....in and out in about 30 minutes. Hated to see one go, but I got that one at around 7000 Cdn$ and sold for just under 12k. cdn. so no complaints.

Carrying it in in a backpack was kinda comical. I was sweating by the time I got to the wicket.lol A couple of people on the street were kind of looking at me funny too....I must have looked a little strange because there is so much weight to such little volume I was walking funny....probably looked like a victim of the shart.

I'm very interested to know what medium you used to find your buyer.
I ask because I can't think of too many ways to get me out of the house with a 1k bar in a backpack to meet someone for the sale.

Get home, drink beer:)

Well, your's truly thinks you should go find and repost that pix of those honking COMEX bars holding down your basement steps, and put a big "X" on the now dearly departed one. That way we can all join your Irish wake, and give it a proper send off. You bring the beverage, and I'll bring the :signs1:

What say you, BB?

In Memorium,

996er, unexpectedly, in his home, on Thursday, December 11 after battling a long fight with cash flow problems. He was born in the foundries of Johnson Matthey, where he was cast, stored and sold into the open market. The remainder of his life was spent quietly preserving value. When called to duty, he willfully laid down his life in place of his 4 siblings. His hobbies included shining brightly, being a bane to centeral bankers, and making his adopted father smile gleefully. He will be missed.

Did Comex have any assay questions?

Re: Sold a Comex bar....

No, if it is a bar with markings, they don't seem to have any issues. Nothing even mentioned. Like I said, in and out.

I hear ya B.....

I had to sell two rolls of SAE's to make a large purchase of ammo.........

When the moment came to actually LET GO of the rolls......

I swear I sweating bullets.

my throat was parched.

I litterally became weak in my stomach.

When I sat in my car I felt dirty .........like a turned a trick for cheap money.

I realize now I was going through "withdrawl"

It was the most yucky day I had in a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

Look at it this way. You didn't sell it, you traded it for a different type of metal is all.
